Intro to Serger Class - Eco Tote Class, Thursday, Oct 9th, 9:30-1:00

The class is scheduled to run from 9:30 - 1:00.  The class room will be open at 9:00.  We'll be starting the class when all machines are threaded and ready to go.  

This class is to introduce you to your serger.  Many of you have sergers, but don't know how to use them.  

We are going to make a simple shopping tote.  We will be using the ECO Tote pattern.  The pattern is designed to to be reversible.  We are NOT making it reversible.  We are making it out of a canvas, denim or similar weight fabric.  The inside seams will be serged to finish the seams.  The handle will be serged into place.  The top edge will be finished with a sewing machine.  We will have a sewing machine available or you can finish it at home.  You do not have to bring your sewing machine.

This class will be a little challenging - not for you - for the teachers!  Elayne and Andrea will be here to help you.  Bring your serger and manual.  All sergers are different and not all are easy air thread like the new Brother Air Flow 3000.  

You will need to bring your serger, threaded with all 4 threads.  If you don't know how to thread it we'll do our best to help you.  We will need to get the machines set up before we can start the class.  So, if yours isn't threaded and you need help come early.
