ABOUT ELAYNE

I've been sewing since I was 7 when my Auntie Chris taught me how to sew halter tops in the summer of '66!  That's a long time ago.  I've loved sewing ever since.

Over the years I continued to sew clothing as well as quilts and home decor items.   After starting at The Sewing Basket I also found a love for machine embroidery and Brother sewing and embroidery machines.  And as "they" say, the rest is history.

I'm thrilled to be here to share in your sewing journey.  I couldn't ask for a better team to help me continue growing The Sewing Basket into the best that it can be.

SHOP HISTORY

We've been serving the quilting community since 1997.  the shop was started by 3 partners as a general craft shop, but quickly added quilting supplies and classes.

Elayne joined Sheryl as a partner in the shop in 2004.  Over the years we grew The Sewing Basket into a quilting destination shop.  

We were honored by Quilt Sampler Magazine as a top shop in 2022.  

Sheryl retired in 2023 and Elayne has been the sole owner since.

We believe that quilting is more than just a hobby; it's a way to express creativity and connect with others.

Established in the heart of Plymouth, WI, our store has become a welcoming space for quilters of all skill levels to gather, learn, and share their passion.

OUR SHOP
We offer a full line of quilting fabrics, books, notions and classes.

We've built a strong community of quilters both in the shop and online through our private Studio Y network.
