Squeeze in sewing time - Cindy's tips

Lives are busier than ever these days, and I know I’ve heard many of you say that you haven’t had time to sew. I used to be one of those people but these small things helped me; perhaps one or more can help you.

Set aside time to sew as you would any other activity from cleaning the house to grocery shopping. If you enjoy the hobby, then there’s no law that says you can’t carve out time to unwind with fabric. I put “sewing day” on my calendar like all my other chores and activities.
Note your snippets of time –waiting for a friend to show up, or the hour before you have to get ready to be somewhere. Today I was supposed to meet a friend for lunch who texted and said she’d be a half hour late; instead of being frustrated with her for being late again, I got some sewing done. Those stolen moments get you one step farther on your project. Sometimes all I get done are two seams, but it’s two seams more than I had before.

Are you an early bird or late nighter? Can’t sleep? Use that time to sew. Brother machines, in particular, run really quiet, so the rest of the household can sleep while I sew. I get up at a ridiculously early time and I often sew after my barn chores are done and before I get to work at the Sewing Basket.
We all need our time for our hobbies; it keeps us sane! Hope you can get more of that time for your stitching!
