Class Deposits FAQ's
What is a class deposit?
A class deposit is a small payment that helps us confirm interest before scheduling a class. It allows us to offer classes that truly work for our community.
Is a class deposit the same as registering for a class?
No. A deposit lets us know you’re interested. Once enough people commit, we’ll confirm the class date and open full registration for the class at that time.
Why aren’t class dates always listed right away?
Some classes are listed as proposed while we gauge interest, confirm teachers and find available classroom time. Once enough people commit, we set the date and open registration.
Why do some classes require a deposit?
Classes take time and preparation to offer well. Deposits help us schedule classes that have real interest and avoid last-minute cancellations.
What happens after I place a deposit?
Once enough interest is reached:
- we’ll confirm the class date and time
- registration will open
- you’ll receive instructions on how to apply your deposit toward the class fee
What if the class doesn’t run or I can’t attend?
If a class doesn’t receive enough interest, or if you choose not to register once it’s scheduled, your deposit automatically becomes store credit in our system. You won’t lose it.
Is store credit refundable?
Store credit is not redeemable for cash, but it can be used toward:
- future classes
- fabric, supplies, kits, or other shop purchases
How long is store credit valid?
Store credit from a class deposit is valid for 6 months from the date the deposit was placed.
How do I use my deposit or store credit?
Online: You’ll receive instructions by email when registration opens.
In-store: We’ll apply the credit for you at checkout.
Can I use one deposit for more than one class?
Each deposit applies to one class. If you’re interested in multiple classes, separate deposits are needed.
Do demos or informational events require a deposit?
No. Deposits are only used for certain project or technique classes.
Class deposits help us offer better classes with fewer cancellations — thank you for being part of that process.
